Weeks 58&59 in France

Some of our blog followers may remember this Christmas tree from a year ago.  Our kids and grandkids made ornaments sharing their love of Christmas and of Jesus Christ and sent them to us in France last Christmas.  Needless to say, we love it, and it will always be precious to us.  Yes, it will go home with us at the end of our mission.

From Versailles we took the L train to the St. Lazare train station where I paused to play the piano you can see in the background for a few minutes.

We went to Paris last Saturday to see the Christmas decorations at Galleries Lafayette and wander around a bit. The cupola at Galleries Lafayette is incredible.  It's hard to see just how large it is, but if you look carefully, you can see people in the middle and bottom pictures.  The pictures don't show the moving parts, either.

We stopped for a late lunch at "The Comete" restaurant and enjoyed some very good food.  We frequently like to share a creme brulee for dessert.  No, that's not my evil twin behind Janet.  Just a mirror!

We wandered around the famous Opera. We thought it funny that I managed to take this picture with all the people in front of me taking pictures!

While wandering through some of the covered shopping lanes, we found a store dedicated solely to Harry Potter things.  There was a line of people waiting to be allowed to go inside to shop.  Across the aisle from that store was a giant Lego sculpture of the sorting hat where people could sit to have their pictures taken.

Around the corner we found the Grevin Wax Museum, but decided not to go in.  We thought the front was pretty cool, though.
The real highlight of last week was the Thanksgiving Dinner we had at the temple president's home.  They found a whole turkey at Costco, and we provided the side dishes and dessert.  Janet made the two pies you can see in front of her and under President Bize's arm.

The days get dark pretty early here since we are so far north, but we still manage to enjoy walking through the Versailles Chateau park.  We had fun watching the kids watching the sheep.

We are so blessed with so many things to be thankful for.  God has been good to us.  We pray you will see all the blessings you, too, have received at His hands.

  2. Wayne and Janet,God loves you,but HE has nothing to do with this false religion invented and led by liars, hypocrites and occultists. Historically, the book of Mormon is a bunk(Never a tribe of Israel went to the Americas to give birth to the Natives-the DNA test denies it-and far less the LORD JESUS- The so called original manuscript with the "pearl of great price" were mere lists of obituaries written in the old language of Egypt,Smith had purchased in a library and not discovered in a forest, and the "false apostles" in Salt Lake know it well). Joseph and Hyrum were, also, free masons, this is why many rituals followed in the temples come from masonry-occultism). We have, already a perfect testament, which you can find it in the New Testament(Galatians 1,6-9,Jude 3-4). Pray HUMBLY to our LORD JESUS and HE shall reveal to you too and HE 'll save you from sin, evil and hell with his ALMIGHTY LOVE in His Kingdom. In God's love and Truth
